The Sundial Cannon

	The Sundial Cannon - a Black Powder "Nooner" Cannon The Sundial Cannon - "Noon Cannons" were developed in Europe during the early 1700's and history indicates about 300 were produced. These cannons were owned by royalty and used in palace courtyards, gardens, as well as summer retreats. Our cannon was developed from sketches, photographs and letters obtained from the Greenwich Maritime Museum in England and is specifically designed for North American latitudes. The "Noon Cannon" is hand-made of solid brass and teak, thus it may be installed outside without fear of damage, or kept indoors as a decorative piece. The cannon fires black powder and is supplied with the necessary tools for measuring the charge and loading (ramrod and loading shovel).
Sundial Cannon Features The Sundial Cannon is handcrafted from the oiled teak wood base up. All metal parts are 24kt. gold plated for beauty and durability. The Sundial Cannon is activated by the sun. The magnifying lens captures the sun's rays and ignites the black powder charge. All metal parts feature intricate relief work as well as detailed metal etching. Excellent as a distinctive , unique gift or perpetual trophy. The toy of kings and gentlemen in the 18th century.
