Welcome Aboard!
Since 1953, RBG Cannons has been providing the world with the finest quality, handcrafted saluting cannons. All of our cannons are carefully proportioned replicas of the ship cannons used from 1750-1865 by the navies of France, England, and the post-independence United States of America.
Firing 10-gauge blanks or black powder, barrels are meticulously finished with special attention to detail, and are cast & machined in brass, bronze or aircraft-grade anodized aluminum, with specialty plating available. Our carriages and bases are handsomely made of teak and other fine hardwoods for display. The RBG Cannons signature stamp is found in the breech of all our cannons... our sign of authenticity.
Whether you're starting races, presenting trophies, or giving a distinctive gift, join the lucky few who salute the world with a cannon instead of an air-horn.
Happy Firing!

A Distinct History
In 1967, naval architect L. Francis Herreshoff authorized RBG namesake R. Berkeley "Berke" George of Madison, CT to continue building his signature cannons, 10 of which were designed to accompany the ships he built. To this day, RBG's Herreshoff continues to be the only authorized reproduction of his cannons.
Over the course of Berke's career, he built over 900 of Herreshoff's cannons, strictly adhering to the standards and guidelines set by Herreshoff himself. In 2010, After nearly 60 successful years of operation, Ye Old Cannon Maker retired from the business, and, now under new ownership we proudly continue the tradition of quality. RBG Cannons continues to build Burke's signature cannons & much-loved designs, in addition to developing new models for every taste & purpose. Booming since 1967 |
